I’m so excited to continue the Shop Local series, Camilla Creations!
Today I’m showcasing Kassandra’s small business, Camilla Creations. She is a fellow graduate of Christopher Newport University and her business offers a wide variety of artisan products. In case you aren’t aware, CNU is a small liberal arts college in Newport News, Virginia. It’s often hard not to have a connection to somebody! I actually worked with her brother, Ricky, during my last year of college. She’s originally from Northern Virginia but has since moved to Richmond, where her business is primarily located.
She is multitalented and offers everything from woodworking to embroidery to paintings.
I personally bought an embroidered hat that says Christopher Newport University and has my monogram on the back. Plus another one for my mom. However, I am dying to get my hands on a foil or painting of Christopher Newport Hall and UVA’s Rotunda. You can also bet that I’ll be ordering one of her “home is where the doodle is” when I get my future puppy.
The creations are often incredibly personal, she loves doing grad cap designs for the special graduate. I remember seeing a bunch that she did back when I graduated from CNU in 2015. Everything is marked at a great price, but she will do sales on Instagram periodically.
She has also expanded to word working and wood burning. You can get a custom wood cutting board (a must-have for a new family!). Add in wood coasters for the complete look.
One thing I love about her and her business is how family-oriented it is. Her fiance, Patrick (another CNU grad), is often seen at CNU’s farmer’s markets and sales helping out (he’s also the CFO). Last fall, her adorable nephew was diagnosed with cancer, her response? Hold fundraisers and be with him as much as possible. You can check out the gofundme here.
You can see a ton of her products on instgram here.
Take a bit and check out everything she has to offer!
If there is a small business you would like to see, let me know in the comments.
