Favorite Spring/Summer Shoes

Hi y’all,

I will be the first person to say I have horrible feet! I have something called claw toes and they can be extremely painful. I actually had surgery on them when I was little because they were so painful, I refused to walk. We’re getting to the point again where they are painful, but I am trying to not have any surgeries until I’m done with grad school. I’ve also injured my feet pretty badly in the past. I’ve sprained my foot multiple times. I’ve been on crutches, in a walking boot, and received 3 months of physical therapy. Needless to say, I try my best to take care of my feet and wear the best shoes I can. I do have orthotics that I got them at Good Feet in Richmond. I have their most stiff kind and they help keep my feet in alignment.

Now, if you’re thinking you made a really long post about not promoting products. You’re right. I did. However, the difference is that these are shoes that I wear all the time. Literally, I’ve owned them for years and years. I’m not being paid to promote these shoes. I genuinely love them!

I love these Dr. Scholl’s Women’s Madison sneaker. I bought them a few years ago during the prime sale and adore them! I can fit my orthotics inside. The only downside to these is that I can’t really wear socks with them.

One of my favorite places to shop for shoes is Nordstrom. They just announced the closest Nordstrom to me (the one at Short Pump in Richmond) will most likely not reopen. While I do admit they did not always have the greatest selection, that’s is a buying issue that could very easily be fixed.Screen Shot 2020-05-11 at 3.53.03 PM

However, once I find a pair of shoes I like, I continue to buy them. I have 3 pairs of these Sam Edelman Felicia Flats currently in my closet, and I’ve had at least a total of 5 pairs. I wear my normal shoe size (7.5) in these and can fit my orthotics in them. I will say that the material in the footbed does disintegrate with the use of the orthotics. They do have enough cushion I should be able to wear them without the orthotics, but I can definitely tell that alignment isn’t right in my legs and ankles when I don’t use them.

Rainbows are another favorite of mine. I’ve been buying these since high school and I will continue to buy them. These are a shoe that I can definitely get away with not wearing my orthotics (but if I wanted to, I would just put Velcro on them).

I’ve also tried Rothy’s, love a good pair of Jacks (I just can’t wear them back to back days). I recently bought a pair of Lilly Pulitzer sandals that I can’t wait to break in. During the huge ShopBop sale I also got a pair of Sam Edelman sandals, but I haven’t had any chances to wear them yet!

What are your favorite pair of Spring/Summer shoes?

xx,

Lindsey
