My Blogging Doubts & Insecurities

Hi y’all,

Everyone has doubts, and then throw yourself onto the internet and everything changes. This is true for all bloggers and vloggers, not matter if they are in the 1% of “top” bloggers making 6 figures, or they are micro influencers.

I wrote this post a bit ago about how the influencer industry is rather fake. This often leads to people have doubts and insecurities about themselves.

I’m taking this opportunity to share with you my doubts about putting myself out on the internet.

  1. I don’t have a specific niche so I can’t reach a “target” audience. I didn’t want to narrow my niche too far down because I love blogging about a variety of topics. If I did a fashion blog, I feel like I could never talk about teaching, or share other things that I love and am passionate about.
  2. I’ll never see the same view counts as those “big” macroinfluencers. Everyone is super focused on the amount of views they get because the more views, typically means more money. This is a hobby for me, and while I do check my analytics, I’m not super focused on views. I would rather have comments and relationships with y’all. Plus, this way, I can share what y’all are interested in!
  3. I can’t share what I really want to because people won’t like what I have to say. I realize that it really doesn’t matter what I do, at some point someone will disagree with it. Go with the flow.
  4. I’m not pretty enough to market my own self as a brand. Y’all, we all see what goes viral: the “perfect” woman. I am definitely not that. However, I do know how to market a brand, and I am my own brand. Everyone is already their own brand, so not own it? Since I’m not perfect, I don’t pretend to be. I don’t try to have my Instagram look perfectly cohesive because my life isn’t perfectly cohesive 100% of the time.

Let’s all challenge ourselves to break free of our insecurities-no matter what they’re related to!
