Would You Rather?
Hey y’all, I wanted to do a fun post for y’all today, so I decided to do some would you rather questions. I simply googled some to find different ones. Would you rather be gossiped about or never talked about? Easy. Never talked about. Would you rather be hairy all over or bald? Hairy all over. You can fix that easily. Would you rather be happy for 8 hours a day or poor, sad, and rich for 8 hours a day? I’d rather be happy. Would you rather be invisible or able to read minds? Oh this is a tough one! I think I would prefer to be able to…

A Local’s Guide to Charlottesville
Hi y’all, I’m so excited to be sharing this with y’all today! As you may know, I was born and raised in Charlottesville and I’m lucky enough to still call it home today. I also realize that people can have a negative opinion or think they know Charlottesville from what they’ve seen on the news. Charlottesville is definitely not what is being constantly portrayed in the media, and I want y’all to see the Charlottesville I know and love. There are several different “neighborhoods” so to speak that make up Charlottesville and the surrounding county, Albemarle. I broke it up a little bit to share with you my favorite places…

My Relationship with God & Religion
Hi y’all, As I mentioned yesterday, since I’m blogging every day this month, I want to share some more personal posts. This post is very personal and definitely goes into more about me as a person. Today’s post is about my relationship with God. This is not something that I normally talk about with other people, I hold this relationship very close to the heart. I am not here to tell you what you should believe in or not believe in. I’m here to share my experiences and story with you. Yes, I grew up in a Christian household. I celebrate Easter, Christmas, and all the other traditional Christian holidays.…

Weekly Catch Up 6.13
Happy Saturday y’all! This week I’ve been doing a lot of reading for my classes to hopefully get ahead so I don’t feel as much pressure during the rest of the summer term. However, I did spend a little bit of money this week. I haven’t shopped at Sephora in a while (like years) and I wanted to try out the Isle of Paradise tanning drops because I’m extra pale and nothing seems to be working as far as self-tanners go. So I put in an order….I just got the tanning drops, and tried them out tonight. No worries, I’ll keep you updated! I also got some Charlotte Tilbury lipglosses…

10 Secrets for Productivity
Hi y’all, Happy Friday! How fitting is it that this post is on productivity, when I’m sure we’re all a little checked out at this point. My “summer” officially started on June 2nd; however, I have summer classes that have already started, and will end in late July/early August. Since I don’t really get a break where I get to sit around and do nothing (before my classes started I spent a great deal of time reading ahead so that I wouldn’t have to do as much each week). I have to continuously be productive without a relaxing break. Plus, when you add in my extracurriculars (blogging, Junior League, alumnae…

Tips to Prep Your Classroom for the Next Year
Hi y’all, As we know, the 2019-2020 school year did not go the way any of us initially thought it would. I miss my class, and have missed them since March 13th. I’ve gone to school a few times to pack things up and keep them organized, I know some teachers have not yet been allowed to go back to their schools depending on what phase they are in. You can watch my cleaning vlog here. I keep seeing pins on Pinterest for making sure you’re ready for the next school year. At this point, we still don’t know what August and September will look like. However, there are things…

Secrets to a Successful Summer Term
Hi y’all, If you’re summer terms for undergrad and grad classes haven’t started yet, they will be soon! Mine are starting this week and next (I have one class starting this week, and one next). I decided it was time to sit down and get organized. I prep a little bit differently for my summer classes just because they often have the same amount of work as a Fall or Spring semester class, but in half the time. The first thing I do is print out my syllabi and course calendars so I can write down important information in my own planner. I write down major assignments in the monthly…

My Blogging Doubts & Insecurities
Hi y’all, Everyone has doubts, and then throw yourself onto the internet and everything changes. This is true for all bloggers and vloggers, not matter if they are in the 1% of “top” bloggers making 6 figures, or they are micro influencers. I wrote this post a bit ago about how the influencer industry is rather fake. This often leads to people have doubts and insecurities about themselves. I’m taking this opportunity to share with you my doubts about putting myself out on the internet. I don’t have a specific niche so I can’t reach a “target” audience. I didn’t want to narrow my niche too far down because I…

My 5 Year Plan
Hi y’all, Today is kicking off a solid month of blog posts with a 5 year plan. I’m so excited to blog every single day this month. I know this is going to be a bit of a challenge with my grad classes starting again this month. My 5 year plan is essentially what I plan on doing in the next 5 years-so by 2025! This is so crazy to me that in 5 years we’ll be halfway through another decade. I’ll be in my early 30’s, which is also crazy! I remember when we made a huge deal out of 2000 in elementary school. Anyway, for me my 5…

Weekly Catch Up 5.30
Hi y’all, This past week I spent 4 days completing Responsive Classroom Training. I actually already knew the majority of it since I’ve worked in a district that uses Responsive Classroom. It was super time consuming though so I didn’t get much else done. I did run to the post office a few times, but other than that I was sitting in front of my computer on Zoom. Next week, I do have some stuff to do on Monday, though so hopefully it’ll be a little more energizing. I’m also trying really hard to have a weekly YouTube video up, make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss out! This…
