    Shop Your Closet

Shop your closet and create new outfits! Styling outfits is one of my favorite things to do. I love to find pieces that go together. I’ve been known to say “I like my money where I can see it-in my closet”. Which is great, except I also really like to save money. One thing I’ve gotten a lot better at this year is styling outfits from my closet. The idea behind these posts is that you can see what I would mix and match in my closet to make different outfits. I include prices in posts like these so that if you wanted to shop, you’re not blindsided when you…

    Amazon for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is coming up! While I typically don’t do much for the holiday (I blame this on being single), I do like looking around and browsing for fun decorations and ways to celebrate! I will say I am usually quite the grinch about Valentine’s Day. Plus, I do love any excuse to shop! One of the usual perks of being a teacher is decorating for holidays. However, this year, I’m not planning on doing anything for Valentine’s. It’s hard to decorate with COVID, since soft surfaces can capture the germs. I’ve really tried to minimize the soft surfaces in my room this year. Likewise, I made this keeping in…

    Office Decor

I love decorating office space. Honestly, I love decorating in general. However, there is something special about office supplies. I also love back to school shopping, so it’s probably that they’re similar if we’re being honest. As I keep moving toward buying my own house, I’ve started to think about what items I want to have in it. Thankfully, I’ll be done with grad school by the time I’ll purchase and finalize everything for a home. However, this is not stopping me from wanting a dedicated office space. Influence

Influence: (n) the capacity to have an effect on the character, development, or behavior of someone or something, or the effect itself. We’re used to looking at the word influence and influencer in the terms of social media. In fact, I asked my 5th grade class what it meant to influence someone or be an influencer they said: “to share ideas and thoughts on social media”. Not a bad definition for a 5th grader to come up. Who is an Influencer? Consequently, my first question back to them was “is it only on social media?”. This one was a little bit tougher for my kids. Keep in mind they idolize…

    Life Changing Apps

Apps can be life changing. We often let our phones and technology take over our lives. However, instead of letting technology run us, we need to use it to our advantage. The Power of Manifesting

The Power of Manifesting has been an interesting topic for me recently. The Secret is about manifestation. I read the book when I was younger. However, I definitely didn’t get much out of it. Okay, this is probably because when I say “read” I really mean barely skimmed. I always create goals at the start of each year. They’re kind of like my manifestations for the year. Manifestation is defined as “the action or fact showing from an abstract idea”. It’s also defined as “a version or incarnation of someone or something”. I’ve been listening to Tori DeSimone’s podcast and she talks a lot about the power of manifesting. However,…

    Bank Accounts

Bank accounts can either work for you a little or work for you a lot. Have you heard of the term passive income? This essentially means that you are earning money while doing nothing. For instance, rental properties are often passive incomes because you don’t really have to do much outside of regular maintenance (depending on your terms) and keeping a tenant. The stock market can also be a passive income. On the other hand, active income is where you are physically working for the money. This is like your day job where you earn a salary.
