    30 Days of Blogging

Hi y’all, Well, it’s officially day 30 of blogging every day for a month. Y’all, I’m so glad that I challenged myself to put out 30 posts. It was definitely helpful in learning more about myself and more about some of the parts of blogging that I often forget are just as important as the actual post. I started this challenge with My 5 Year Plan, wrote multiple book posts, gave a fitness update, and shared a 101 in 1001 update. First, I definitely learned that it gets tough to put out posts every day for 30 days. I know that I used some of these days to post more…

    June Book Chat

Hi y’all, Can you believe it’s almost the end of June? Me neither! I had a few assignments to finish up for school which is why today’s post is so late. I did talk about the children’s books I read for class here. However, I didn’t read only for class this month. The Start of Us by Lauren Blakely. Girl and guy are best friend, but nothing more….right? Maybe not. This is part of a trilogy and I have only read this one. Definitely a story that captivated my attention and makes me want to read more. 4/5 stars for stereotypical ending. Marrying Mr. Perfect by Lizzie Shane. The nanny…

If I was Stuck on a Deserted Island…

Hi y’all, Happy Sunday! Today’s post is another fun one for you and answers the age old question: If I was stuck on a deserted island what 3 things would I bring with me? A water filter and bottle two in one. I’m assuming I’ll be surrounded by salt water so that is a safe option to make sure I’m getting water that is clean and not salty (no scurvy here, folks). A knife of some sort. This would help to cut things, like food, stab things, etc. Something to help start a fire. I’m sure I’ll have access to kindling and that sort of thing available; however, a fire…

    Weekly Catch Up June 27

Hi y’all, I promise I didn’t forget about today’s post! This week, I’ve had some more assignments due for grad school and we’re starting to learn about options for what fall will look like. This upcoming week, I don’t have as much to do with it being the week of July 4th. However, I do plan to start working on creating my writing plans for the upcoming year. I’m implementing Writing Workshop whether we are virtual or in person. I’ve kept up with my Morning Meltdown workouts and as of today have officially finished day 26! I have never stuck with a program this long and I am definitely noticing…

    My Brand + Announcement

Hi y’all, We are seeing an uptick in people having a personal brand because of social media. Myself included. I recently attended a webinar from my sorority about branding and PR for chapters and alumnae associations. However, everything I learned was very applicable to my blog. I did not take marketing classes in college because you had to be in the business school, which I definitely was not. My Communication classes often gave great inside into marketing and I learned so much about social media. They key to social media is that it is always changing. We see the algorithm continuously change on social media (think Instagram). While I am…

Would I Pick the Same College Again?

Hi y’all, With COVID-19, a lot of people are re-thinking their college choices. Is now the right time to go to a 4 year school? Honestly, if it’s all online and you want the college experience, probably not. However, I would not change a thing about my college experience and I wanted to share a little bit about it reflecting back on the fact that it’s now been 5 years since I graduated from Christopher Newport University. In 2010 and 2011 I was a senior in high school. I was doing all the typical things, playing field hockey, coaching middle school lacrosse, loads of volunteers hours, and running my Girl…

    Current Beauty Favorites

Hi y’all, I’m so sorry today’s post is coming so late! I ended up having a difficult time with a grad school assignment due to some of the instructions not being clear. Anyway, today’s post is sharing all my favorite current beauty items! I’ve been trying a few new ones out and wanted to share with you! Charlotte Tilbury lipgloss. I got this in two different shades to try out: Pillow Talk and Sweet Stiletto. Sweet Stiletto is definitely not as pink as it is online. I am very impressed by this gloss. It is not sticky and has great pigmentation that lasts for a super long time. Isle of…

How to Stay Involved in Fraternity/Sorority Life as an Alum

Hi y’all, When you joined your Fraternity or Sorority you might have heard, “it’s not four years, it’s for life”. However, many people stop being involved after graduation. You paid hundreds to thousands of dollars to belong to this organization during college; why not stay involved when most likely they’re only asking for donations from you as an alum? Join an alumni/alumnae association. These often do come with dues, but depending on how big the association is will most likely determine the cost. They often focus on the local area and support chapters nearby. We often have meetings that help people get to know each other and spend time doing…

    A Review of Skillshare

Hi y’all, I recently had a trial from Skillshare and I wanted to share with y’all my opinion before you spend $99 a year for a membership. First things first, it is mostly a membership site. You can get away with not paying and viewing free videos; however, that option is limited. For me, I cannot justify spending $99 a year or $8.25/month for the premium version. There is not a ton of variety on Skillshare. It is definitely focused more on media, technology, and advertising. I do think you can find a lot of the information that is on Skillshare somewhere else for free. It might not be as…

    Would You Rather?

Hey y’all, I wanted to do a fun post for y’all today, so I decided to do some would you rather questions. I simply googled some to find different ones. Would you rather be gossiped about or never talked about? Easy. Never talked about. Would you rather be hairy all over or bald? Hairy all over. You can fix that easily. Would you rather be happy for 8 hours a day or poor, sad, and rich for 8 hours a day? I’d rather be happy. Would you rather be invisible or able to read minds? Oh this is a tough one! I think I would prefer to be able to…
