    A Year in Review: 2021

2021. What a year. Who knew that 2021 would be so similar to 2020? Not me. But, here we are. I wanted to look at what happened each month and check in on my 2021 goals before the New Year. January I spent a lot of time blogging! This month, I wrote so many different posts this month, but I think my favorite was this one on influence. I also wrote some posts on Pinterest marketing. Unfortunately, due to how Pinterest is set up now, I’m definitely not finding it as lucrative. However, I still love Pinterest. Maybe I’ll do an updated post about Pinterst? February I did a check-in…

    101 in 1001 December 2021 Update

Welcome back to my 101 in 1001 list. It’s literally been a year since I’ve looked at it. I have until February to see what else I can accomplish. I went from having completed 28 things completed to 42-so quite a big jump. 101 in 1001 lists originated with McKenzie Horan at Design Darling. I will say it’s often a challenge to come up with my list for 101 in 1001. My 101 in 1001 Things Career/Grad School 101 in 1001 Graduate with my M. Ed in Reading from UVA. (August 2021) Walk the Lawn at UVA. Take and pass the RVE for Reading Specialists. (June 2021) Maintain straight A’s…

    Travel in 2022

Travel. Such a hot topic. People are tired of staying at home, and I’m no exception. Especially since I’ve been doing grad school for the past year and a half, I’m ready to go travel. Travel has been on my list of 101 in 1001 things list for as long as I’ve been doing them. My passport still only has stamps from England and France from when I studied abroad. I’ve been saving to buy a house, and I’m now over my savings goal for the price range I want to be in. So now, I’m adding savings for a car (if y’all have suggestions I’ll be looking in the…

    Outfits for the Holidays

Y’all, it’s that time of the year again: time to pick outfits to wear for the holidays. I love putting together different outfits. Plus, I know that I personally need to do a better job of shopping from my own closet. I love this time of year! I love getting to pick out different outfits based on a different events. This year, I’ll probably be leaning more toward semi-casual and very casual. However, I’m 100% okay with that. Now, you can substitute a variety of different things to make these outfits work for you straight from your closet! It’s not always possible to get things in stores right now, and…

    Social Media and Dating

Did I ever think I would write a post about social media and dating? Absolutely not. Well, here we are. I’ve talked about dating before. Dating is hard; however, is it getting easier because of social media? Millions of people have followed the story between Emily Cole and Mitchell Pehlke. Emily is a Duke cross country and track runner, and Mitchell is a lacrosse player for Ohio State. She had a formal to go to, and needed a date. Emily made a tik tok video asking if anyone knew anyone. Mitchell responded. As they say, the rest is history. Mitchell ended up going to Duke for the formal (shout out…

    Breaking Down Investing

Investing is one of the best things you can do for yourself. You probably already invest via a 401k or some other retirement plan through your work. Some of my most-read posts are financial posts, and I love learning more about finance since I know so little. Now, before you read the rest of this, keep in mind that I am not a financial advisor. This is just information I found to help me with my investing and wanted to share it with you. I am not giving you financial advice nor telling you what you should (or should not) do. I currently use Robinhood for partial shares or smaller…

    Hair Care Products

What to look for in a hair care product? Well, honestly, I have no idea. I keep seeing different things on social media, and every time I go to a hairstylist they recommend a different product. Typically, I find myself looking for a new hair product every 4 months. I definitely want to try to be as healthy as possible when picking new items. I started here with health.com, but they have a ton of products on there that people on social media said never to use. Allure seemed to have some better options listed for their 44 best hair products of 2021, but some still seemed questionable. I love…

    Last Minute Gift Guide

It’s time for the last-minute gift guide! Holiday shopping has never needed to be done sooner than it has this year. I didn’t really think about buying gifts this year-but I found most of my gifts locally which is awesome. However, I know not everyone has access to great local shops. Blanket | limited time sale price $31 | I love a good blanket. To me, a blanket is such a thoughtful gift because I’m always cold. This one doubles well for a nice decor piece and comes in different colors. If you’d like a more expensive or lux blanket, this UGG blanket is so soft and is $98. Mug…

    Adding in Me Time

Mental health has been a hot topic recently, but something I’ve always had a hard time with, me time. Especially with a busy holiday season, where I’m working two jobs, me time is few and far between. If I’m being honest with myself, this is pretty typical though. I struggle with taking “me time”. We’ve seen with the past few years, how important our mental health is. I’ve focused a bit on physical health. However, mental health is just as important, if not more important. Yesterday, my kids read a paired passage on anxiety and physical health. They were shocked to learn that their mental health plays such a large…

Shop Til You Drop | Black Friday Cyber Monday Sale Week Purchases

Shop until you drop or can’t click anymore! I wanted to share my purchases from the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale week. I’m definitely still waiting on things to come in, and that’s fine-I’ll review the things I have, and let you know if I’m still waiting on them if they haven’t shipped yet. Shopping is one of my favorite hobbies (hence, a blog on style), and I’m so glad I get to share these with you! Teleties | I bought the small size tortoise and coconut white hair ties and then I got the tortoise headband. I’ve never had one of their headbands before and I’m super excited to try…
