My Gratitude List
Gratitude: the quality of being thankful. Wow, I will be the first person to say that I have not been thankful or even thinking of things to show gratitude for recently. But, I’m changing this.

Since July, it’s been really hard. I had knee surgery that my recovery did not go as I expected. The doctor told me I wouldn’t be on crutches. I was on crutches for around a month. I wasn’t prepared and then that ended up making the start of my school year extremely difficult. However, I do have a lot of things to be grateful for, especially considering the current state of the world. I wrote this thankful post about a year and a half ago. Some things have changed, but others haven’t.
My Gratitude List: What I’m Grateful For
- A roof over my head + family. Y’all, with evictions back in place, I’m so grateful that I have a permenant roof over my head.
- My basic needs in general are met. Luckily, I don’t have to worry about finding food or water. Y’all, what a blessing that is.
- Warmer weather on the horizon. Y’all, being able to look forward to warmer weather is such a blessing.
- A consistent job. Y’all, being employeed is HUGE. I’m grateful that I’ve never really struggled to find a job. However, I know that this makes me fortunate and there are people who have struggled to find and keep a job.
- Having a Master’s degree. I’m sure some of y’all will be shocked by this fact-I am a first generation college student. My brother and I are the first in our families to earn Bachelor’s degree, I’m the first to earn a Master’s degree.
- Being able to save money. I’m so fortunate in the fact I don’t have any loans or debt. I’m lucky that I have made it so that I can pay my credit card bills in full every single month.
- The ability to move. Especially after my surgery, I have never been more grateful for the ability to move. It’s so nice to be able to go for a spinny or a walk.
- Tiktok Community. I’m so grateful for the friends and community on TikTok.
- Clean clothes. Y’all, it’s no secret that I’m a shopaholic, but having clean clothes is such a blessing. Especially with inflation, having clean clothes and being able to resell my clothes is huge. I’m so grateful to have the opportunity.
- A changing mindset. This is huge, and the main reason I’m writing this post. Having a changing mindset has been so beneficial to me the past few weeks. It is extremely easy to get caught up in the negative. However, making a switch to a more positive mindset has helped me so much. This helped me create opportunities that otherwise I wouldn’t have.
What’s on your gratitude list?
xx,
