    Dates Aren’t Found on Apps

Hi y’all, Dating apps are all the range. Most of your friends have them or tried them. You probably have too. Being in Charlottesville, there are actually not a ton of eligible men hanging around, or if there are, I’m looking in the wrong places. So, I asked my friend one night after watching The Bachelor if she thought the TV show or dating apps would be more helpful. Keep in mind, neither of us have applied/have been on The Bachelor. Of course, this is when I found out she’s never used a dating app, and she suggested this blog post. I feel like there are 2 major dating apps…

    Lilly Pulitzer Resort Release

Hi Y’all, As I mentioned in my APS post, I’ve been a Lilly lover since I was a wee one. Well, yesterday was Lilly’s last resort release. This means Spring is coming! I’ve picked a few pieces from this release that I love. This release is full of purple/light lilac which is often not my best color, but this collection is stunning. 1. Dillon Pullover || This was a must have item for my closet. I can honestly say I have nothing like it in my closet. Plus, it goes perfectly with leggings and jeans. This fits very true to size. 2. Short Sleeve Bay Dress || I LOVE the Bay…

    Winter Clothing Essentials

Hi y’all, Since we’re in the middle of winter, I wanted to take a minute to talk about my winter clothing essentials. As a teacher, I can’t wear jeans except on Fridays, which has drastically changed my winter wardrobe. For my essentials, I try to buy staple items because I want to be able to buy them year after year. 1. J.Crew Factory Gigi Pant || I always buy the one with the side zip closure. These are super comfortable, fit well with boots (a must in the winter for me), and I can wear different shirts and sweaters with them. Bonus, they are almost always on sale. 2. Pullover/Crewneck sweater…

A Day in the Life: Teacher Edition

Hi y’all, Today I’m going to share all about a normal day in my life. Today’s post is going up a little bit later than normal. My first day back teaching was today, and the prep for it was basically nonexistent, so I’m a little behind. Anyway my normal teaching day looks like this: 5:30 A.M. Alarm goes off. 5:45 A.M. Alexa goes off. This is when I actually get up. 5:45-6 A.M. I wash my face and eat breakfast. 6-6:20 A.M. Get dressed, do my minimal makeup (literally foundation and mascara), make sure my bag is ready, start my car. 6:20-6:40 A.M. Drive to my friend’s house to meet…

    2020 Goals

Hi y’all, Happy New Year! I do not have a cute title for this post, simply because it is all about my goals for 2020! I am not one for setting resolutions because they are typically not achieved. Goals are something that are achievable because you outline how you’re going to reach them. 1. Say ‘No” more. I honestly am the “yes girl”. I have got to start saying no.How? I’m going to pick and choose who I spend time and put my energy into relationships that mean something. It also means saying I have other commitments. 2. Save money. My car is getting older (and more miles) and I’m…

Confessions of a Shopaholic on a Non-Shopaholic Budget

Hi y’all, My name is Lindsey and I’m a shopaholic. Shocker? Not exactly. However, I definitely do not make the money or have the savings to be a shopaholic. Now it is time to start saving my money instead of spending it. As an adult, I definitely have some “major” purchases coming up in the future that I will need savings in order to afford without a struggle. We all just saw how bloggers posted left and right about the #nsale. I shopped it to. However, I will say over 3/4 of my purchases are going to be returned. I shop at Lilly Pulitzer, granted my shopping habits for there…

A Weekend with Me: Target and Rodeo

Good morning y’all, I wanted to share a weekend in my life. Saturday, I spent 3 hours at Target. Which, yes sounds like a lot of time. I did some shopping for my classroom for the upcoming school year. Target is giving teachers a 15% off one time coupon to use this week, so I jumped on it. Everything I bought for my classroom was $5 or under! I’m switching to Language Arts this year, so I knew I would need some additional storage compared to last year. I also bought some stuff for flexible seating. What really took the longest was I ended up buying Airpods, and I struggled…

    Becoming an Adult: Life Update

Hi y’all, Here at the end of 2017, I realized something: I’m becoming a real adult. This realization really hit when I considered joining the Junior League. Plus, I keep thinking that I need to start prioritizing saving money for furniture. Talk about weird. I have officially finished school now (woo!), so I’m just waiting on my license to come in. I’m applying for a jobs in a field that I love: teaching. I definitely did not take the conventional path to teaching. I finished my degree (BA in Communication Studies with a double minor in History and Leadership Studies) from CNU in May of 2015. In January of 2016,…

    Back, Back again

Hi everyone, Thank y’all for taking a peak at my corner of the internet. For 4 or 5 years I did “this blogging thing”. Well, here I am again, trying my hand at “this blogging thing”. I’ve decided that for right now I’ll be posting once a week, Monday mornings at 8 a.m. If I start to get more ambitious, you’ll definitely see more posts! You’re probably wondering what you’ll see in this corner of the internet. For now, I’m going to label it as Lifestyle. This means things from my every day life: fashion, makeup, education, and becoming an adult (but more on that in a future post). Anyway,…
